Elijah

While Elijah courageously stood against the idolatry, evil and injustice of the nation of Israel and Ahab its king, Elijah was also being gently drawn to live in greater dependence on God. While Elijah’s life and ministry were accompanied by grand demonstrations of God’s power for King Ahab and the nation of Israel to see, God’s power was also subtly at work behind the scenes in understated circumstances and small, quiet whispers. While God is always at work around us, He is also just as much at work in us.
